During the Paleolithic Period,  which is considered as the "Old Stone Age" its a period before the eighth century B.C.E., during this time the earliest development of stone tools and art began to evolve.  The term Stone age doesn't necessarily mean that everything was made with stone, they used other natural resources such as wood, hides, and reeds. The one of the first stone tools that was made was the hand ax, made by Homo ergaster which means "working men". During 17,000 B.C.E., the caves in Lascaux which where used as ritual gathering places. Other caves are located in France and in northern Spain. Inside the caves where drawings with spiritual meanings, and gave us their interruption of the surroundings. With their drawings they where creating meaning in a space for decorations.

  1. She did a good job explaining the cave homes from the Stone Age. Also, her photos were great examples of how people used caves for homes back then as well as today.
